IBANEZ RG421 Electric Guitar

After about 2 and half months of work, I'm happy to present my newest prop--a recreation of my Ibanez guitar! The goal of this project was to recreate a real-world subject as accurately as possible. I figured that since I use this thing every day and that it's always seated right next to my desk, I have no excuse to not try and model it! Rest assured, lots of time was spent fiddling with the instrument and rotating it at hundreds of strange angles in order to accurately replicate it.

This project was a great exercise on how to optimize an asset for real-time usage whilst also sacrificing as little geometric detail as possible. I attentively wanted it to still hold up at extremely close camera angles, which necessitated lots of scrutinizing micro-details in both the geometry and texture. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the final product and think it was an invaluable experience in both applying understood knowledge and learning new techniques.
